If so our skilled artists will identify any unique characteristics in the photo which are later reflected in the completed paint scheme. This is why no two mounts are ever exactly alike and explains the differences you may see in the coloration of the various mounts. If you have a photo or description, please send it by email to [email protected]

Body elongated, metallic blue to bluish green dorsally, shading to white ventrally, a lateral yellow stripe sometimes present. Large eye. Tail deeply forked. Lower margin of gill opening with a deep furrow, a large papilla immediately above it and a smaller one near the upper edge. Operculum with a black spot. Scutes only on rear lateral line. Sized range up to 20 inches
Goggle Eyes make excellent live bait for live bait fishing in Miami. They are a favorite live bait of sailfish, marlin and big kingfish. They also make excellent bait when bottom fishing for amberjack, grouper, snapper and cobia. Some people catch their own goggle eyes for bait in the very early morning hours, often just offshore of the beaches. During fishing tournaments, sailfish tournaments, kingfish tournaments and other fishing tournaments, goggle eyes are often purchased for live bait by boats competing in the tournaments.
